13yr old girl wants to keep AR15 rifle

A 13-year-old Waikato girl has sent an open letter to the Prime Minister passionately defending her rights to use an AR15 rifle for sport shooting. Maddy Millen-Turner says she competed in three gun and multi gunning events with an AR15 rifle that was purchased for her 13th birthday. She shoots under her father Matt Turner's firearms licence, and says the reason she loved her rifle was that it was light and easy to use. She told Ben Strang the government's new gun laws have destroyed her passion.
