Trade deal on environmental goods signalled by Ardern

From Morning Report, 7:36 am on 26 September 2019

New Zealand is to launch into negotiations with four other small countries to remove tariffs on environmental goods - such as solar panels or wind turbines. The Prime Minister announced the move at the United Nations in New York, alongside leaders from Norway, Iceland, Costa Rica and Fiji. The announcement came on a day Jacinda Ardern is making a number of media appearances and on CBS's breakfast show she relayed what she said to US president Donald Trump about how New Zealand changed its gun laws after the horrific attack on two mosques in Christchurch in March. Susie Ferguson spoke to RNZ's deputy political editor in New York, Craig McCulloch.
