Stoush breaks out in Hamilton over gardens lawn

From Morning Report, 6:20 am on 26 September 2019

A stoush has broken out in Hamilton over plans to turn a feature lawn at the city's gardens into a carpark. The plan is part of redevelopment proposals at the gardens, which also includes new areas for arts performances. The city council wants to seal the Rhododendron Lawn for parking and open up a new grassed area elsewhere in the gardens. A former Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival director, Hamish Nathan says the planned removeable of the lawn came as a shock.
