Bring plans not speeches, UN tells world leaders

As world leaders meet for the United Nations Climate Action Summit tomorrow, the UN secretary general Antonio Guterres is asking them to bring concrete plans and not just beautiful speeches. He says nations need to announce bold actions in line with reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 45 per cent over the next decade, and to net zero emissions by 2050. We speak to Alden Meyer, the director of strategy and policy at the Union of Concerned Scientists, and an expert on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
