Competition to become first Maori mayor

As hundreds of candidates compete for a spot on their local council, some are determined to go a step further and make history - by becoming their region's first Maori mayor. The number of Maori elected to local government has grown each election year since 2007, but this still pales in comparison to the number of Pakeha. Te Aniwa Hurihanganui reports.
