Auckland Hospital apologises for causing brain damage

From Morning Report, 7:51 am on 23 September 2019

Staff at Auckland Hospital have apologised to a Dargaville builder who was left with brain damage after he was given an overdose of morphine. Fifty-six-year-old Trevor Flood was admitted to hospital in February suffering from pain related to recently completed radiation therapy and given morphine. After he was discharged he was unable to do things like work a tv remote or use his phone. His wife Kylie Flood told our reporter Michael Hall she's now had an apology from the team and head neurologist at Auckland Hospital, Dr Richard Sullivan.
