Lack of big infrastructure projects could cause worker exodus

A leader in the civil construction sector says a lack of large infrastructure projects in the pipeline could cause an exodus of skilled workers to Australia. The chair of the Auckland branch of Civil Contractors New Zealand Peter Millar says the government has not announced any major works to replace the projects they've cancelled. Mr Millar told our reporter Jordan Bond that's in contrast to Australia, where significant investment and long-term planning of large works means there is secure work for years to come.
