Govt freshwater moratorium to impact farmers, developers

From Morning Report, 7:26 am on 5 September 2019

Farmers and developers will have to budge the most on the way they use land with the government set to announce a moratorium on activities that are destructive to New Zealand's wetlands.

Later this morning, the Environment Minister David Parker will set out his plan to stop the degradation of waterways immediately, improve water quality for rivers, lakes and wetlands within five years and ultimately fix them within a generation.

RNZ political reporter Jo Moir has outlines some details ahead of the announcement.
