Kiwibuild reset a ‘complete retreat’ by Labour - Judith Collins

From Morning Report, 6:39 am on 5 September 2019

The National Party says the government has broken its promise by scrapping its KiwiBuild targets.

Yesterday the new minister responsible for Kiwibuild, Megan Woods, ditched the target of building 100,000 homes over ten years, saying the pressure of meeting that is partly to blame for the policy's failure.

She also announced they will reduce the deposit required for a government-backed mortgage to five percent, and remove the asset test for 'second chance' home buyers.

National Housing spokesperson Judith Collins says the new policy is a complete retreat by Labour.
