Former prime minister Helen Clark wants New Zealanders to vote 'yes' in next year's cannabis referendum.
The recommendation comes off the back of a report released by her foundation yesterday, The Case for Yes.
The report suggests wiping minor convictions, as well as removing convictions for supply where there were no other factors involved.
It also recommends developing a structure for a legal market which prevents prevents large scale and commercial cannabis retailers and producers.
Susie Ferguson spoke to Miss Clark about what persuaded her that we should be voting 'yes' to legalising cannabis.
