Free lunches for kids not enough for families in poverty

From Morning Report, 7:47 am on 30 August 2019

A community action group says free lunches for children don't go far enough for families in poverty. The government has announced a programme to serve a daily free lunch in 30 schools from the first term of next year, to be extended to 120 schools the following year. The programme will cost around 45 million dollars. Laura O'Connell Rapira is the director of the social justice group Action Station, and spoke to us about the issue.
