Look on the bright side: study finds optimists live longer

From Morning Report, 8:55 am on 28 August 2019

A new study has found that optimists are more likely to live longer than those who have a more negative approach to life.

The theory is that optimists may find it easier to control their emotions and so protect themselves from the effects of stress.

Dr Lewina Lee is the lead author of the study at Boston University School of Medicine, she spoke to Susie Ferguson.
