Iwi on mission to increase te reo Māori  speakers among kaumātua

A Wairarapa iwi is on a mission to lift the number of Māori language speakers among its kaumātua.

Rangitāne o Wairarapa found more than seventy percent of its people aged 55 and over could not speak te reo Māori. Now 40 of them have taken up the challenge to become students again and learn. RNZ's Te Aniwa Hurihanganui has the story.
