Māori translations on voting papers ‘institutional racism’ - candidate

A candidate in the local body elections says the rules governing Māori translations of candidate profiles on voting papers is a form of "institutional racism" and must change.

Election rules state profile statements must only be 150 words long - in either language - not taking into account that te reo has a third longer word count when translated from English. Anusha Bradley reports.
