The sister of the man accused of a stabbing rampage on the streets of Sydney has described her brother as having had a steep descent into insanity.
A 21-year-old man, named as Mert Ney, is being held in custody in connection with the death of 24-year-old Michaela Dunn. A 41-year-woman was also stabbed in the back and is being treated in hospital.
Ney's sister spoke to reporters outside her home, apologising to the two victims. Sydney ABC reporter Phillipa McDonald spoke to our producer Lucy Smith about what she said.
