The gun owners' lobby is asking members to hold onto their banned firearms - until the government changes its buyback scheme.
The Council of Licensed Firearm Owners says the events are hostile, and don't make gun owners feel safe and secure. The council's spokesperson, Nicole McKee, says the government needs to look at how the police are running the events.
