Hong Kong protests: Numbers swell as airport shuts down

The Chinese government has denounced pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong as terrorism and say they will respond to further disruption with an iron fist.

Thousands of protesters occupied the Hong Kong airport overnight, leading authorities to cancel flights in and out for 12 hours. They left quietly when police arrived in large numbers.
