Abortion: 'Validating' move from crime to health - supporters

The government wants abortion removed from the Crimes Act and made available as of right in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy.

After that a doctor would need to decide whether an abortion was appropriate with regard to the person's physical and mental health.

Those pushing for abortion law reform say it's a win but those opposed say Justice Minister Andrew Little's bill is radical and disturbing.
