New NZ digital curriculum set for 2020, are schools ready?

From next year schools have to teach digital technology but a major report says many won't be able to.

The Education Review Office report raises serious doubts last year about schools' preparedness to teach children as young as five the basics of computer programming from next year.

The Education Ministry insists things have improved since the review office surveyed schools last year - but school principals say there has not been enough training for the new curriculum.
