From Morning Report, 7:28 am on 1 August 2019

Security has been beefed up at caves where moa bones are at risk of being pillaged, as the government moves to make it illegal to trade remains of the extinct bird.

The government plans to consult the public about soon-to-be proposed regulation changes to stop the trade of moa bones.

And as RNZ's Amy Williams reports, a trading halt can't come soon enough.
