Regional Economic Development Minister Shane Jones says he'll be seeking reassurances from ANZ on its commitment to the regions when he meets the bank's chief executive in Melbourne on Friday.
ANZ has hinted the Reserve Bank's proposal to make banks hold more capital could lead to reduced lending in the regions and primary production sector.
Mr Jones told RNZ political reporter Jo Moir he'll be raising his concerns when he meets chief executive Shayne Elliott on Friday.
