Thames Hospital building WOFs revoked days after issue

From Morning Report, 8:15 am on 30 July 2019

Building warrants of fitness at Thames Hospital have been revoked just days after they were issued.

RNZ reported in May the Waikato District Health Board had found firestopping defects in buildings at Thames Hospital.

Last Friday the Thames-Coromandel District Council said the buildings had just been issued with warrants of fitness.

But yesterday, after further inquiries by RNZ's Phil Pennington, the council did an about turn and said the warrants had been revoked.
