A New Zealand tattoo artist who took explicit photos of his clients' thigh tattoo and then shared them in a group chat using demeaning language has sparked a global movement.

A collective called 'Cover Up's against Abuse' has been set up which lists 120 'safe artists' from around the world who will help people who have suffered permanent trauma at the hands of their tattoo artist.

Hanna Clough is a Auckland tattooist who joined the campaign - she spoke to RNZ's Charlotte Cook.
