Simon Bridges criticises govt's cancer treatment spending

The National Party has committed to killing cancer in New Zealand - and it might stand alongside the government to do that.

At the party's annual conference yesterday, leader Simon Bridges announced a plan to form a National Cancer Agency and to boost Pharmac's cancer drug budget by and additional $50-million per year.

The government has promised to form a cancer agency in the country as well - with a draft plan due out in the next few weeks. Gyles Beckford speaks with Simon Bridges.
