Ihumātao: Protectors, protesters remain as development paused

From Morning Report, 7:14 am on 29 July 2019

Protesters at Ihumātao are taking time off work to continue their occupation, despite construction on the disputed site being put on hold.

The fight to protect the 32 hectare land block in South Auckland from a new housing development continues to receive growing support as it enters a second week.

Mana whenua and private land owners have been asked to engage in further negotiations to find a way forward, but aren't giving anything away ahead of planned talks.
