Northland swamp kauri still being exported - conservationists

From Morning Report, 8:46 am on 24 July 2019

A Northland conservation group says companies are still taking swamp kauri logs out of the country after the Supreme Court ruled they could export only finished products.

The Far North Environmental Protection Society says the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment is failing to enforce the law - by not prosecuting an exporter who simply dressed and decorated a log for export.

The Society's Fiona Furrell says the decision not to prosecute makes a mockery of the court's ruling.

She talks to Susie Ferguson.
