Boris Johnson to be new British Prime Minister

Boris Johnson is will be the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. In the vote for the leadership of the Conservative Party, Mr Johnson won almost double the number of votes than his rival Jeremy Hunt.

He will formally take over as prime minister later today when Theresa May steps down.

In his acceptance speech the former foreign minister promised to unite Britain.

Boris Johnson is also promising to follow through on his "do or die" pledge to deliver Brexit in just over three months' time.
