Silver Ferns end 16-year drought with Netball World Cup win

"A long time between drinks" - that's how Silver Ferns captain Laura Langman has described the New Zealand team's win over Australia in the Netball World Cup in Liverpool.

It has been 16 years since the team last held the trophy, and the title. The Ferns were up by seven goals at one stage in the third quarter and managed to hold on as the Australian Diamonds fought back.

It came down to just one goal, with the Silver Ferns prevailing 52-51.
