How to face online trolls - a teen mayoral candidate's advice

A teenage candidate at this year's council election says there's an art to knowing who to block online, and who to put up with.

Local government leaders say the rising wrath of social media keyboard warriors might be putting people off standing for council, and that online trolls are making the job tougher.

Nineteen year-old Rohan O'Neill-Stevens, who hopes to be elected to the Nelson City Council this year, told RNZ reporter Tracy Neal tolerance of trolls is up to each individual.
