Risk of major sea level rise when Antarctic glacier collapses

From Morning Report, 8:41 am on 11 July 2019

An Antarctic glacier the size of Florida may be on the brink of collapse and could cause catastrophic global sea level rises.

It's expected that once the melting of Thwaites Glacier passes a tipping point, it will become an unstoppable process which could raise sea levels by half a metre.

Corin Dann speaks to Dr Alexander Robel from the Georgia Institute of Technology, who lead the study.
