Rob Thomas fights to save Western Springs geese from cull

From Morning Report, 8:56 am on 3 July 2019

More than 100 geese which have settled at Western Springs Park in Auckland could be headed for the chop.

The gaggle has grown too big for the council's comfort. They each eat up to 3kg of grass a day and a lot of what goes in must come out - 1.3kg per bird, per day.

But a local body politician is keen to find new homes for them.

Rob Thomas is on the Waitematā Local Board. He talks to Corin Dann.

His posts on Facebook about the geese have gone viral.
