Aucklanders urged to cut back water use after dry months

Water suppliers who would usually sit idle over winter are doing a steady trade in Auckland, with residents who rely on water tanks needing help after a long dry spell.

The first six months of the year have been the driest ever recorded in parts of Auckland, leaving the city's reservoirs 25 percent lower than usual and prompting Watercare to urge people to cut back on water use.

But as Tom Furley reports, every dry cloud has had a silver lining for some businesses.
