Horowhenua votes to cut rural road speed limits

From Morning Report, 8:46 am on 13 June 2019

On Wednesday night the Horowhenua District Council voted for new, lower speed limits.

Many of the district's back roads will be reduced from 100km/h to 80km/h, and unsealed roads will have an even lower speed limit: 60km/h.

District Mayor Michael Fehen told RNZ reporter Tom Furley there was overwhelming support among councillors for the new limits.
