Trump abandons Mexico tariffs after immigration deal

From Morning Report, 7:55 am on 10 June 2019

US President Donald Trump has abandoned tariffs on Mexico that were supposed to kick in on Tuesday.

Mr Trump said the tariffs are "indefinitely suspended" after negotiators from the US and Mexico reached an agreement on immigration enforcement.

He had threatened to impose tariffs on all Mexican goods entering the US, if Mexico did not limit the number of Central American migrants from moving through.
