Major gaps identified in NZ's national security

Major gaps have been identified in national security including no strategy to prevent terrorist attacks.

A senior lecturer of security studies who has researched the system for three years says the lack of a national security strategy means the GCSB and SIS are working in silos.

The Minister responsible for the SIS and GCSB, Andrew Little, admits there is also no single counter-terrorism strategy.
