A world-leading roading trial in New Plymouth may offer a solution for the thousands of tonnes of difficult to recycle plastic grades - 3 through 7 - collected in New Zealand each year.
The plastics are being combined with asphalt to create a new roading blend, Plas Mix, which laboratory tests indicate performs better than conventional asphalt.
