New Zealand Rugby hopes to have a replacement for long serving chief executive Steve Tew in place by the end of the World Cup.

Tew announced on Wednesday he's stepping down as chief executive at the end of the year. He has spent 18 years with the rugby union - the last twelve of them as CEO but will have no hand in appointing his successor.
