Napier councillors warned to avoid public meeting over pool

Napier City councillors were warned by the council's chief executive not to attend a public meeting on a controversial new pool developing, saying they could be disqualified from participating in future decision-making if they did.

But public law and governance experts say the advice is wrong and councillors have any right to attend any public meeting without any consequences.
