Four killed in Darwin shooting, gunman arrested

From Morning Report, 7:14 am on 5 June 2019

At least four people have been shot dead by a gunman in Darwin, northern Australia.

Eyewitnesses said the gunman entered the Palms Motel in an inner suburb of the city with a pump-action shotgun and went from room to room shooting, before fleeing.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the shooting was not terror-related.

Police arrested the man an hour later. Neda Vanovac is with the ABC in Darwin.

She told Morning Report producer Siobhan Wilson it was a chaotic night in the city.
