Chester Borrows questions Bridges' crime stats claim

The head of the government's Criminal Justice Reform Panel is questioning claims from the National Party about serious crime being on the rise.

National leader Simon Bridges says a rise in serious crime cases before the courts since the 2017 election is partly due to a 'soft on crime' approach by the government.

Chester Borrows, a former National MP, is the chair of the government's Criminal Justice Reform Panel. He talks to Susie Ferguson.
