For the last eight years Southland Disability Enterprises has held a contract with Wastenet, sorting recycling for the Invercargill, Gore and Southland districts.

But now it's in jeopardy. Many of the workers' family members are concerned if the SDE contract is not renewed, it would be hard for them to find new jobs.

Hamish McMurdo is the general manager of Southland Disability Enterprises. He talks to Corin Dann.
