Shane Jones slams farmers over Zero Carbon Bill response
Farmers have come under fire for their reaction to Government efforts to limit the effects of climate change. The Minister for Regional Economic Development, Shane Jones has accused farmers of ignoring their duty to act in accordance with New Zealand's international commitments for years and says they're politically biased. Mr Jones' comments follow lobbying from farmers about forthcoming changes to the climate change legislation, albeit with a 95 percent discount on the cost to farmers. He says he won't let farmers get away with their behaviour.
