Baby removals: Health board member urges investigation

Last week Hawke's Bay Hospital was put into lockdown during a stand-off between midwives, social workers and police, as they tried to take a newborn from its 19-year-old mother. Now a member of the local District Health Board wants the ombudsman to investigate. Jacoby Poulain says she has concerns about how the case was handled by all agencies, but believes the hospital failed in its duty of care to look after the young mother.
