NZ school bullying at 'intolerable' levels - ERO

From Morning Report, 7:44 am on 13 May 2019

The Education Review Office says bullying is reaching intolerable levels. And it says strategies used by children to combat it only work about a third of the time. In most cases, the bullying resumes and sometimes it gets worse. Almost one quarter of students say they have been hit, pushed, kicked, punched and/or choked at least once a month. The report has found boys are more likely to be bullied than girls but gender-diverse children suffer most, with 58 percent reporting being bullied at school.
