Ardern heads to Paris for social media summit
The Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is en route to Paris where along with French President Emmanuel Macron she'll host the Christchurch Call summit this week. The meeting - the first of its kind - is an attempt to eliminate social media being used to promote and organise terrorism. It comes in the wake of 51 people being killed in Christchurch in March when the accused gunman stormed two mosques and livestreamed the massacre. Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg spoke to the Jacinda Ardern on Saturday offering his support for the summit but he won't be there. He's sending his head of global affairs Nick Clegg in his stead but Jacinda Ardern told our reporter Jo Moir that's not what's important.
