Venture Taranaki welcomes clean energy centre

From Morning Report, 8:22 am on 10 May 2019

Taranaki's business and tourism agency says the region is well-positioned to lead the country into a low-emissions future, following the announcement of a $27 million clean energy centre. The annoucement comes one year after the government decided new offshore oil and gas exploration permits would be banned - a major blow to the region. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the country needed a focused agency to help it transition away from fossil fuels. Justine Gilliland is the chief executive of Venture Taranaki, the region's business and tourism development agency.
