A million species threatened with extinction - UN report

From Morning Report, 8:10 am on 7 May 2019

A United Nations assessment on the global state of biodiversity has issued an ominous warning - a million species are on the brink of extinction. The most comprehensive report on global biodiversity ever compiled was released late last night and says nature is declining at rates unprecedented in human history. Professor Eduardo Brondizio is the co-lead author of the report. He says all of this is happening because we're changing the way we use the earth's resources The director of the Biological Heritage National Science Challenge, Andrea Byrom says the report cannot be ignored, and we should be very worried.
