A New Zealander working for a yachting charter company in Panama says the death of Alan Culverwell has shocked people in the area. Alan Culverwell was killed by pirates who boarded his yacht in the remote region of Guna Yala late last week and his wife and 11-year-old daughter were injured. The family had been cruising the Caribbean for the past two years and were en route to the Panama Canal on their voyage back to New Zealand at the time of the attack. Wilson Parker is a New Zealand sailor who's been based in Guna Yala for the past two years.
