'I had extreme fears' - crash victim's mother

From Morning Report, 7:09 am on 6 May 2019

The mother of two young boys killed in a car crash while fleeing police says she warned the DHB and the police just a month before the crash her younger son would die or kill someone else. Sixteen-year-old Glen Mcallister, his 13-year-old brother Craig and his friend Brooklyn Taylor died instantly when their fleeing car exploded into flames following a police pursuit in Christchurch in January. Documents obtained by RNZ's First Up have revealed Juanita Hickey begged hospital staff and the police for help for one of her sons who had mental health problems but the DHB repeatedly discharged him from their services. Indira Stewart has the story.
