Teachers begin vote on joint mega-strike
As primary and secondary teachers prepare to vote this week on strike action they've released a survey showing the vast majority of people agree teachers need a pay rise. The unions have published the results this morning as they begin balloting members on whether to join forces for a nation-wide strike at the end of the month. The Post Primary Teachers Association and the Educational Institute say pay rises of 9 percent over three years are not enough. Melanie Webber is vice-president of the PPTA.
